I have always wanted to paint, but up until recently it went only as far new coats of paint on the walls of each house I moved into. Finally, looking for some direction in my life, I decided to do something about it. But before I could think about painting I needed to find out if I could even draw. In March 2007 I completed the Right Brain Genius drawing course with Helen Joy. Please visit her site (see the link in My Favourite Websites) to see what it's all about. That set me on my creative path. Since then I have been gradually teaching myself to paint...and loving it! You can see the progression of my work here on my little site. If you would like to see any of my works, I have some displayed at Sushi Express, upstairs at Orchid Plaza in Cairns. My continued thanks to Lyn for her support. As time has progressed, I have become so passionate about my art that in January 2008 I put an extension on my little house and now have space dedicated as an art studio. In July 2008 I undertook my first painting lessons by taking part in Cairns Art Society's 5 day ARTescape, held at the Tanks Art Centre, with an amazing artist by the name of Greg Dwyer. If you have any interest in learning to paint or to improve or learn new techniques, I would really encourage you to attend Greg's weekly art classes - All Mediums - Cominos House - 27 Greenslopes Street, Edge Hill - Fees are $25 for 3 hr class - classes are kept interesting, with each student receiving individual attention.
